One of the reasons: AI is writing them.<\/p>\n<p>Since the rise of tools like ChatGPT and other AI applications, more job seekers are letting AI draft their CVs or <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-motivation-letter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">motivation letters<\/a>. If AI does not take over the thinking, there is nothing inherently wrong with this. But many delegate too much. Applying for a job means engaging deeply with your own personality, your experience and your goals \u2013 as well as with the role and the organisation. This process cannot be delegated.<\/p>\n<p>Standardised CVs and formulaic motivation letters have always been an issue. AI has intensified this trend. The applicant\u2019s personality gets lost \u2013 and with it exactly what makes the difference in a selection process. Even ChatGPT itself warns against using AI uncritically.<\/p>\n<p>Application documents should be an expression of your personality. At best, AI is useful for fine-tuning \u2013 and even then, only with clear, restrictive instructions.
