Today, it is a profession in its own right \u2013 with growing demands.<\/p>\n<p>High turnover and <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-skills-shortage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skills shortages<\/a> require a professional, strategic approach. <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-recruiter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Recruiters<\/a> no longer rely solely on job postings. They actively search social networks such as <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, approach candidates directly, and tap into the hidden job market \u2013 much like traditional <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-headhunter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">headhunters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recruiters work on behalf of <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-hiring-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hiring managers<\/a> \u2013 the line managers with staffing needs. Together, they define the required profile. Depending on experience, the recruiter may handle the initial screening or take full responsibility for <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-sourcing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sourcing<\/a> candidates. What is required today goes far beyond administrative competence: strategic thinking, psychological insight, and a realistic view of people.<\/p>\n<p>Those who want to assess others convincingly must also be aware of their own perceptual biases \u2013 and be willing to ask critical questions.
