For in-demand professionals and managers, it is a joint venture \u2013 on equal footing.<\/p>\n<p>The concept of the self-entrepreneur emerged during the dot-com boom, when professionals in start-ups began to think and act more entrepreneurially. Today, the idea is more relevant than ever. Those with a strong, in-demand profile operate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-labour-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labour market<\/a> like a business: they assess their position, evaluate fit, and negotiate collaboration. This perspective fundamentally changes the dynamics of a <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-job-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">job interview<\/a>: it is no longer a traditional <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application<\/a>, but a mutual assessment of suitability.<\/p>\n<p>Those who see themselves as entrepreneurs of their own <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a> take an active role in shaping it. What is my offering? What differentiates me? How do I develop my profile to remain relevant in the future? These are questions reminiscent of strategic business management. Continuous development becomes a targeted investment \u2013 not a compulsory exercise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-personal-branding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Personal brandin<\/a>g is the natural consequence of this mindset.
