Headhunters are the reason why.<\/p>\n<p>Terms such as headhunter, <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-recruitment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recruitment<\/a> consultant or executive searcher describe different roles \u2013 all with a shared objective: to find qualified talent for companies. Unlike<br \/>\nrecruitment agencies that work on behalf of job seekers, headhunters act exclusively for employers. They are typically engaged when traditional job postings fail to deliver results \u2013 and no longer only for senior executives, but increasingly also for specialised professionals. Their key tool is the direct approach of suitable candidates, many of whom are not actively looking \u2013 known as <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-direct-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">direct search<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With the rise of digital networks such as <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, the landscape has expanded. Today, it is not only external headhunters who engage in active <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-sourcing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sourcing<\/a> \u2013 in-house <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-recruiter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recruiters<\/a> are increasingly taking on this role as well. They analyse profiles and approach relevant candidates directly.<\/p>\n<p>For job seekers, this means: those who position themselves with a strong and compelling LinkedIn profile become discoverable \u2013 even without actively searching for a job.
