It is often also an opportunity \u2013 for postponed ambitions, new directions, and personal growth.<\/p>\n<p>Outplacement \u2013 also known as newplacement \u2013 originated in the 1950s in the United States, when individuals leaving the military were supported in entering civilian careers. Initially reserved for senior executives, it is now available to employees at all levels. I personally favour one-to-one outplacement: every career transition is unique \u2013 and the support should reflect that. In addition, personal issues often arise that require discretion.<\/p>\n<p>The exact content varies widely. For younger professionals with <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application<\/a> experience, targeted support in the application process may be sufficient. In more difficult separation situations, <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaching<\/a> can help process the experience \u2013 and open new perspectives. A thorough <a href=\"https:\/\/2026.karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-personal-and-professional-assessment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">personal and professional assessment<\/a> is central to this. Many skip it out of concern about unemployment and move straight into applications \u2013 thereby missing valuable insights.
