Both sides save time, travel costs and effort. Initial<br \/>\ninterviews are often shorter than in-person meetings \u2013 frequently limited to 30 minutes. In terms of content, however, online interviews are no different: the focus is on personal fit and professional suitability \u2013 just as in a face-to-face setting.<\/p>\n<p>Despite growing familiarity, mistakes are easy to make. Camera, lighting and background deserve just as much attention as the content. Your choice of clothing should match what you would wear in a personal interview. Eye contact online is created by occasionally looking directly into the camera \u2013 not at the screen. And gestures can quickly appear exaggerated in close-up: less is more.<\/p>\n<p>A trial run with someone you trust can increase confidence.
